Save Our Seawall – Thorntonloch.

We are raising funds to help repair and future proof the seawall along Thorntonloch beach, to protect the land, fields and public access.

With stronger and stronger winter storms, higher spring tides rising sea levels and a generally more destructive weather system the current seawall along the beach front has taken quite a bit of damage. This has been repaired but it also made obvious the need to improve and strengthen this whole area to stop sea ingress onto the land.

This land has been important to the East Lothian area for centuries and more recently to generations of families enjoying the amenities here.

Monies raised will be used to purchase materials and pay for the contractors to carry out the work in a professional and thorough way, to help give us centuries more enjoyment of the beach at Thorntonloch.

• Buy a Block: Sponsor a block in the seawall and leave a lasting legacy. For £300, you can fund the repair of an existing block, or for £500, you can sponsor the purchase and installation of a brand-new block. Each sponsorship includes a custom plaque.
